You can grow your own food. We can help.

Tremont Garden Project

~~Tremont Garden was a simple backyard that, with a lot of help, has transformed into a productive and lively neighborhood garden space. It is also a community meeting place and an educational resource. Our goal has always been to promote independence from a culture/economy that does not provide adequate nutrition nor a connection to earth, the food itself and the people who provide it.

Beneficiaries include:

Our neighborhood: We value our relationship with our neighbors and we like to share freely with them.

Volunteers: Our primary way of compensating our volunteers is by sharing food from the garden.

Guests: We organize small pot-luck style gatherings on a weekly basis and we like to provide as much non-store bought food as we can.

Local businesses: At our last annual “Garden Get Down,” we provided a venue for our neighborhood meat market, a popular microbrewery, artists selling jewelry and crafts, a masseuse and ten musical groups. Vendors and performers kept 100% of their proceeds.

Perhaps the most important benefit we can offer beyond the food we grow is inspiration and knowledge for all of our guests to pursue their own gardening/sustainable living endeavors.
