You can grow your own food. We can help.

Temple Community Garden

Hi! My name is Stephanie Buzzell and I am applying for this grant with some of the members of my community in a rural area of Maine. Last year I started a small garden(pictured above) out of my own pocket and I believe it benefited many of my neighbors by providing fresh and healthy vegetables to them at no cost. With the limited budget I worked with last year I was still able to contribute to over ten homes, different varieties of delicious goodies fresh from my very own piece of earth. My goal for this year is to quadruple the size of the garden to provide even more goods to even more people while continuing to keep members of the community young and old alike working together for a common goal. I am at an age where many of my peers have children of their own and I feel that this is a great way to involve and educate them on many of the neccessities for a healthy life- How to plant, grow and prepare fresh sustainable food.
