Does kgi have my account blocked? I have tried 7 times to upload the same sunflower image - front yard garden - & get a red box stating *not a valid url.* Now the Feedback tab is not working either. Please advise.

What are "cut and come again" greens? And how do you cut them, just at the base of the leaves?

Hi there, I have a quarter acre patch close to the centre of Adelaide which is based on permaculture principles . I enjoy growing fruit the most...I am a terrrible cook so grow my vegies for the look of them and give them to friends and neighbours! I have just started to volunteer in a "Kitchen Garden" at a local school

I believe my rhubarbs have crown rot. They looked healthy a few days ago, but the stems are going soft and rotting through. I'm wondering if I planted them too deep?

Just received my copy of What’s Wrong With My Vegetable Garden? It's very informative. I would recommend it, too, especially for a beginning gardener. It is definitely a "go to" book for common problems.

Any suggestions as to how to organically deter grubs and caterpillars from the tomato plants? It is frustrating when these crawlers bore into the green tomatoes and any advice would be appreciated.

Good luck so far this season. My "currant" tomatoes are setting lots of fruit. My "bush" beans that climbed up some string supports are setting lots of beans. Brussel sprouts are making progress, about a foot high now. Pepper plants had aphids so I bought some lady bugs for them and that seems to be working. Herbs are doing well; mint, lavender, rosemary, oregano, parsley, and basil. Carrot seedlings are disappointing at the moment. Getting ready to plant 3 varieties of beets. Oh, and my kale crop over the winter did great. lol

After 2 months of contruction Brenda & I finally finished our 18' x 18' hoop-house. We have planted tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucumbers, basil, cilantro, parsley in five raised beds. Many recycled materials were used.

Thanks for all your suggestions on the greenhouse. Like the idea of the polycarbonate roof and glass sides and enjoyed the slide show of the Fletcher family's greenhouse. Will look into local companies as suggested. Antonis, I'm also interested in building coldframes and liked the idea of using the PE foil.

I am a beginner gardener and new to Minnesota. I would love to here specifics of the garden tasks you are accomplishing right now or planning for the next week, so I can get going! If you tell me what you are doing, that will help me know what I can be doing, too! Thanks! If you have a blog about gardening in Minnesota, please post the link! Plus: I would love to hear your thoughts on growing my crops of interest (keep in mind I'm a newbie): asparagus, beets, broccoli, cabbage, carrot, kale, calendula, cucumbers-and-yellow-squash (I'd like to do on trellis), cilantro, rhubarb, spinach, microgreens, lettuce, bell peppers, melons, pumpkin, sunflower

I live in the tropical north of Australia, and have found those plastic bins to be the best thing in the tropics. I stir it up with a garden fork a couple of times a week, and it is always quite hot. I dig the completed compost out of the bottom door a couple of times a year, digging deep into the ground, so that the space if approximately doubled, and the compost that falls down into the hole is full of earthworms and sits there quite happily until I need it. You can see more on my blog www.africanaussie.blogspot.com
