Hello! I am glad I found Kitchen Gardeners International. I am a lifelong gardener, having started nearly 40 years ago by helping my grandfather. I am interested in establishing school and neighborhood gardens in Prince William County, Virginia.

Hey campus farmers! I am working with a college that is interested in starting an aquaponics project and hopes to eventually sell tilapia to their school's cafe. I am wondering if any of you out there are already doing anything like this and would be willing to talk to me about your experience! You can e-mail me at claire.cummings@bamco.com or call me at 650-906-3436...any help would be greatly appreciated!

Looking forward to the spring. Have permission to start a School Garden project at my grandsons school. Will apply for the grant and hopefully get it...but if not...will do the garden anyway...so worth the effort and expense.

I have just started to receive seed catalogs this year. I used to order organic seed from The Cook's Garden, but hadn't for several years, so I was surprised to receive their catalog. It looked glossy and big, compared to what I remembered. Yes, indeed. It is now owned by Burpee.

I planted a pecan tree in my front lawn 6 years ago. Yesterday I noticed something near the top. A pecan, the first and only one. I split it with my wife. Delicious, I can't wait till next year.

neighbors with small children have had fun the past few summers planting spuds and pulling corn, competing with 'coons and squishing tomato worms!

Anyone experienced with teaching families with no gardening experience to grow in small spaces economically? Some ladies at a local low income housing projects noticed their Hmong neighbors and want help. They are allowed to replace existing shrubs and lawns! They have doors on the south and north, so the experienced gardeners have nice beds. The best method I have found is Food4Wealth. Anything better?

Researching information to start a garden in the backyard in raised garden beds soon. Located in Southern California Mojave Desert. Starting to research for Peppers, also tomatoes. Reading up on a worm farm I want to start to make my own worm compost and bought some worm castings compost, roots organic and pro-mix premiere hp and made a mixture for my 2 boston ferns I am trying to recover. Looking to get some seeds for jalapenos and some peppers and grow at least 2 indoors under a t-5 lamp setup for now.
