This last weekend I planted sugar snap peas, lettuce, spinach, mizuna and mache. I also have some Winter Density and Flashy Trout Back lettuces that wintered over. It's fun to already have a few leaves to throw into a salad.

Have been away from KGI for almost 2 years and am back again. I moved to Grenada in the Caribbean and is starting my backyard gardening. We are now in the beginning of the dry season, but I am very excited cause I can grow all year round.

Oops! BlissfulGarden prompted me to post a status update and say that I read all of the posts and comments, since I certainly haven't lost interest in K.G.I. and kitchen gardening. I've had an unusual year, but now the excitement is growing to start my small spring garden and enjoy the benefits of good home grown food this coming year. Also to tell my old (figure of speech) friends that I'm doing well and hope to contribute to the cause again. Stay natural, David

Hello all! I'm an avid gardener, but new to veggies. I garden on a typically small city lot. This past year, I began planting vegetables in containers and among other plants in my raised beds. After a season of tomatoes, eggplant and kale, my family is hooked. By joining KGI, I hope to learn more about how to successfully incorporate and grow edibles within my existing gardens.

The key thing to do before you plan your garden is to go skiing. Sounds crazy but now I have the patience needed to think out my spring.

HELP! I recently moved from the City of Ypsilanti Michigan to the Township of Ypsilanti, Michigan to find that growing anything for kitchen use in the front yard is prohibited! I absolutely refuse to have a lawn, oh the wastefulness! How can I get the community I live in to see that gardens in the front yard is a good thing?

Is there a commercially available garden planner that you can recommend? I will be using your site for my personal garden, but I am also writing a business plan for a edible landscaping business. I have yet to find anything out there that works and adapting landscaping software to edibles seems to range from complicated to impossible. (I'm not asking for a listing of available software: Google provided me with that. I guess I am asking to see if anybody has favorites, and why.)
