Preparing to pick my first full sized tomato of the season. Black Krim. It's not fully ripe but I need to pick them before the squirrels start doing their taste tests.
What a great moment! We're still several weeks away from that here in Maine, but the squirrels will be ready when the time comes.
It sounds like you've done this before! Do you have a favorite indoor ripening technique? And is Black Krim an heirloom variety?
I protect peaches from the birds with footies, the little things shoe stores use to try on shoes. It might work against squirrels. They stretch and allow light so it doesn't effect growth.
