A storm blew our plastic greenhouse away and the snails eat the seedlings that where not frozen by a late night fros and a cold spell... so all is well in France.
I appreciate your zen-like reaction to catastrophe, natural and snail-made! We too had a greenhouse carried away in a storm. I remember receiving a call from a neighbor saying " I think I just saw your greenhouse blowing down the street." We since moved to a low-slung coldframe.
Yes to Zen! We built our first tomato house after I got tired of crawling into low tunnels with a sleeping bag, book & cup of tea. My son added in his expertise as a deep-water sailor who knew all about handling *sheets* in *high winds,* so our tomato house stayed put in our mountain weather. It was about ~ 8'x30'x6' high with a taut cover so smooth & clear that I got really good photos of the dozens of quart-tomato plants that froze-dead on July 7th after I forgot to roll the ends shut one evening ... I look forward to posting some photos & detail drawings here soon ...
