You can grow your own food. We can help.

St. Francis Community Garden

St. Francis United Methodist Church is attempting to help ease the overwhelming burden of local foodbanks in caring for those in need of assistance.  By maintaining a community garden they are able to donate the harvest to a local relational ministry called Common Cupboard.  This is an organization which helps feed the poor in Union County, North Carolina.  So many times those in need receive canned goods which are filling but may be lacking the nutritional value of food straight from the earth.  In this way St. Francis is hoping to not only feed the hungry but nourish them as well.  In addition to feeding the hungry the community garden helps educate the youth in relation to agriculture and form bonds with neighbors.
