RSI Ontario Gardens

The Restoration Society Housing Solutions Program is a new program that encompasses 3 separate housing projects.  RSI Housing Solutions has 85 customers that are in need of housing assistance.  The customers of this program have been referred to the agency and are either homeless or at risk of being homeless.  The gardens will be planted at a house that the Restoration Society utilizes for emergency housing.  These individuals taking part in these programs are generally very hard to engage.  Having the opportunity for staff to garden with customers could be extremely beneficial and provide an opportunity for our residents to be proud of their achievements.  The garden will be maintained on a regular basis by paid staff, residents of the house and other customers of the agency.  The garden areas being considered would improve the overall charm of the property and would provide an opportunity for the residents to work together on a project.  The vegetable garden would also be used to provide fresh vegetables for the customers.
