Redford Gardens community co-op

Redford Gardens community co-op is an organic (no pun intened) project that came into existance 3 years ago from a shared desire to have affordable organic, GMO-free food to feed our kids and neighborhood.  Many of us involved are unemployeed and rely on this garden to put dinner on the table.  Our common bond is the fact that our backyards all connect, and we all are passionate about gardening and self-sufficiency.  We live in Wayne County, Michigan, one of the hardest hit in the nation by unemployeement and the decline of the auto-industy.  We are a group of approximately 25+ people who garden on a space of 2+ acres.  We are comprised of all colors, ages and ability.  We firmly believe in educating today's youth to lead tomorrow's world.  If we don't teach our children to garden organically and sustainably, who will?  We are so passionate about gardening that we are currently working with Redford Twp government to change the ordinances to make hoop houses legal (currently they are not permitted).  We appreciate this opportunity to recieve additional support.  We are a very HARD WORKING group of neighbors, pushing for change to better our at-risk community.  Thanks so much for your time and support!
