Helvingston looks & sounds like a productive gardener facing a code technicality. I still think it would be a useful contribution for kgi to post some model ordinances from well-run towns & cities. Some role-model photos would be good as well. In our town one man's front yard garden was on the Home & Garden Tour in support of the City Library. Some of his features were: [1] a big front side-yard paved knee-deep with squash varieties; [3] stand of giant corn in bright-blue recycling bins; and my favorite - the driveway was lined with big potato plants growing in bright-red felt bags he made himself. A great look, and he hadn't done anything else to the gravelly, slightly weedy ground alongside his driveway. In the back yard he has an heirloom tomato collection so big it has been written up in local media & he gives away potted seedlings. We live in a resort area - so Orlando College Park might find the example compatible with their aspirations ...
