Cities are noisy, dirty, dangerous,ugly, and expensive. They are vectors for crime and disease, and are usually food deserts, except for the wealthy neighborhoods. The present food system is broken because it subsidizes the cost of feeding people in cities by not paying farmers, farmworkers, or food service workers their worth. Cities are a relic of the Industrial Age; people simply don't need to live cheek-by-jowl anymore.
