You can grow your own food. We can help.

Montessori Cooperative School Community Garden

Montessori Cooperative School has always had gardening at its heart.  Growing and caring for plants and then sharing that abundance with others will grow the students’ hearts, which is in alignment with our social-emotional focus.  Growing food and then sharing it with the greater community will be a wonderful experience for the children.

Our science curriculum follows the seasons and moon cycles closely, studies botany (plants) and zoology (insects & animals) in depth as well as chemistry (soil composition and compost). The garden is the perfect place to conduct these studies and ground this knowledge.

Our gardens will be raised beds.  We will have a composting system and access to water. The garden will be organic and bio-dynamically grown.  These subjects will be brought into and studied in the classroom as well.
