Mill City Community Garden

The Mill City community is a thriving area in East Dallas, where we have big plans for our neighborhood. In 2012, the Mill City Community Association was formed and we are committed to uniting and strengthening our community as one. Our goal is to create a community garden that involves everyone, both young and old in the community. Having a community garden will encourage people to bond and have a sense of pride and ownership for the neighborhood. A garden is a great way for the community to engage in problem solving, such as being creative in learning how to prepare the grounds to make the soil ready to plant food. This will teach our children the importance of team work. This will help our children understand patience and not expect a quick resolution. The garden will provide some relief of families not having to buy most of their produce. The garden will also create a team of people who will learn how to work in unity.
