Logie Place Community Garden

We are a group of community members wishing to transform a vacant and unkept plot of land next to a substation in Toronto's west end into a healthy, vibrant vegetable garden with an accompanying pollinator garden. The intention is to provide shared raised garden beds on the site for individuals and families in the neighbourhood to grow vegetables.  Our plan is to purchase and assemble 32 raised beds on the site which was formerly an industrial area. At least 2 attempts to green this space have failed in the recent past and led people to believe that no rehabilitation is possible here. However, many of us feel very strongly that this cannot be an acceptable position.  The symbolism of using this unloved and neglected land and transforming it into a garden is also of importance to us and our aims.
