Little Harbour School Garden

Little Harbour School is located in Portsmouth on the New Hampshire seacoast.  There are approximately 500 students at Little Harbour School.  The Little Harbour School Garden consists of 10 raised beds surrounded by a split rail fence and is located on school property.  It has been in existence since the summer of 2010.  The goals of the Little Harbour School Garden were and continue to be to supplement fresh produce to the school cafeteria, provide students with a learning environment and make the garden self sustaining.  The garden has been able to achieve each of these goals with the efforts of the students, faculty and parent volunteers.  Our primary reason for applying for this grant is seek funds to be used in conjuction with funds earned by selling garden produce to purchase a greenhouse for the garden.
