Lake CountryCommunity Garden

Churches, businesses, families and individuals work together through agriculture to help break the cycle of hunger and enhance our community action and support for each other. The goal of LCCG is to give at least 50% of the harvest to needy families in the county. To date LCCG has harvested 2,800 lbs. of produce from the summer and fall garden, much of which has been distributed to Back Pack Buddies, kids at the YMCA, shut-in seniors and the local food pantry. We exceeded our goal in the first year, 2013 by donating between 75 and 80% of the crops back to the community. The people who received the produce and worked in the garden are building a sense of community.
