You can grow your own food. We can help.

Hope Community Garden

Hope Garden consists of two gardens: a land garden and a virtual grow garden.  We have been in existence since 2010 when we began with a land garden and the following year we added a virtual grow system via a grant from the Lucas County Department of Jobs and Family Services. Since 2011 all of our food harvested has gone to a local food pantry, Food for Thought in Oregon, Ohio.  At times, we have also provided harvestef food to Nightingale Services Food Pantry and Helping Hands of St. Louis. The focus of the garden is to provide fresh garden produce for those in need in our local community. In 2011, we donated 1971 pounds of fresh produce..  In 2012 we donated 3124 pounds of fresh produce and in 2013 we donated 1603 pounds of fresh produce.  2013 was a difficult year with persistent rain, flooding of our garden, and disease resulting from the constant rain.
