You can grow your own food. We can help.

Hampton High School Greenhouse

Hampton High Special Education Department has a dilapidated greenhouse.  The special education WIN program (job coaching) students want to refurbish it with new polycarbonate film, potting tables and seed starting supplies. They will start seeds and sell the seedlings to fund the special education annual dance. They plan to sell seedlings to faculty, families and other school groups. All students start additional seeds to take home for their families to encourage home gardens. Students will receive greenhouse management instruction, temperature controls, monitoring and pollinators as well as water conservation and rain barrel utilization from Hampton Grows, Inc. as part of the program.

This program will enable students to develop lifelong work skills, permitting them to widen their search for employment once leaving high school.
