You can grow your own food. We can help.

GreenZone Raised Bed Demonstration Garden

The Green Zone is a place to discover “earth-friendly” ideas and alternatives compatible with the Inland Northwest lifestyle.

As the population of Spokane County grows, greater demands will be placed on our environment by the choices and actions of individuals. The volume of waste is increasing, the sources of air and water pollution are becoming more widespread, and the need to conserve water is growing.

We encourage eating local, fresh produce and growing your own is an easy way to accomplish this.  Our educational goal for the raised bed garden demonstration beds is to raise awareness of where the food you eat comes from, how to grow food, and how to select plants and seeds that are successful in our growing area.  We invite local public and home school classes to tour our GreenZone and provide educational material and discussion.  The GreenZone is open to the public for both scheduled and self-guided tours year-round.
