You can grow your own food. We can help.

Freedom Farms

Freedom Farms was founded in 2013 with the intent to develop a fully functional farm and food forest that will serve concurrently as a production center for healthy nutrient dense food and as a classroom where perspective farmers and current farmers can learn about sustainable and innovative farming practices. Our home is the Missoula County Fairgrounds, in the urban heart of Missoula, MT. By helping farmers increase their produce volumes and farming efficiencies, we aid in strengthening the local food system. Every stride in increasing local food is a leap forward for local resiliency and community connectiveness. In 2014 we will dramatically increase our growing space by adding terracing, poly culture row crops, and a greenhouse. We are also developing two classes that interested individuals can join in late spring - a master composting program and a fruit tree grafting course. Our hope is to create and inspire new farmers while bringing current farmers up to speed on sustainable practices, such as no-till farming, composting, livestock rotation, winter ground cover, etc.
