You can grow your own food. We can help.

Divinum Auxilium Montessori School Garden

Our garden is in its second year. We are adding a deer fence and more beds for a larger yield. The goal of the school's garden is for the children to be able to learn about where food comes from, how to produce it, and have sufficient yields to donate. The children plant, cultivate, and harvest the vegetables themselves and prepare them for donation to the local soup kitchen so our greater community will benefit from the school's garden. The children are very excited about the garden and adding in a flower bed this year.  In a Montessori school the children use flowers weekly to beautify their environment and are planning on also bringing these to beautify the soup kitchen as well. The yields will be available for the greater community to purchase on a weekly basis at a market table run by the students, benefiting many local residents who may not have access to such fresh, nutritious vegetables and the proceeds will be put back into the garden project to fund more improvements.
