Provide Garden Tables to County Nursing Home

The Frederick County Maryland Master Gardeners, a volunteer 501(C)(3) organization, would like to take this opportunity to apply for a grant under the Sow it Forward Program. The Frederick County Maryland Master Gardeners mission is to support the University of Maryland Extension mission by educating residents about safe, effective and sustainable horticultural practices that build health gardens, landscapes and communities.

We are seeking grant monies to allow construction of six 2'x6' wheelchair accessible garden tables at the county managed nursing home  The home is maintained by the county and provides nursing and rehabilitation to financially needy county residents.

With the raised garden tables, it will be easier for senior citizens and citizens with physical impairments to access the garden and benefit from therapeutic horticulture activities.
