Daily Bread Food Bank Production Garden Expansion

~~The Daily Bread Production Garden is expanding its growing space! Last season we had 2136 sq. ft. of growing space and next season we will have 3072 sq. ft.. We were able to grow 1260 pounds of organic produce in 2013 and we are hoping to increase that number for 2014. Unfortunately, we do not have the budget to be able to expand our irrigation system to incorporate this new addition to our growing space. We will need to purchase new feeder hoses, drip-lines, connectors and clamps for our garden. Better irrigation will allow our crops to be nourished over the weekends when our organization and access to the garden is closed. Daily Bread Food Bank accepts non-perishable donations from generous community members and corporations, but our garden helps to provide our local families with a variety of fresh, organically grown produce that adds more nutrition to their food basket and gives access to perishable items that families would otherwise have limited or no access to.
