You can grow your own food. We can help.

Casa De Salud Healing Garden

The Casa De Salud family medical clinic’s demonstration garden is a place that volunteers can work and learn in nature. Garden goals are to help educate clinic staff and patients about growing one’s own foods, using foods and herbs as medicine, and getting access to these fresh foods throughout the community. Recruitment is usually done from the clinic’s diabetes education class, or anyone that is interested in eating healthier. As for our medicinal herbs, expansion is needed and we will focus on growing healing culturally competent herbs for the clinic’s use. We also provide education and hands-on learning for growing food in community plots. We provide tilled space, water, compost and help for anyone interested in learning to grow food organically. We build community as we grow food together. We provide educational workshops on composting, amending soil, making salves, and in the future, canning and fermenting foods, companion planting, managing pests organically, and water conservation workshops and/or pamphlets are in the works.
