You can grow your own food. We can help.

Joey's love of gardening

Joey joined our club mid-year last summer.  He has been an active participant and has not missed any activity offered as part of our Junior Master Gardener program.  He works hard to help maintain our community garden and is very proud of the 200 plus pounds of food we were able to grow and donate to the local food bank.  He is excited to help plant this year’s garden and see what type of yield we can harvest and who we can help.  He has also convinced his family to start a backyard garden.  He is working hard to complete his junior master gardener certification and thinks as a result of his involvement he would like to pursue a career in horticulture someday.  Joey has also been part of some intergenerational activities working with area seniors this winter on a holiday center piece project and this spring helping prepare a garden at the local retirement community.

He is just one of our proud gardeners giving back to his community.
