Sow It Forward Grantee Spotlight: The Alice Griffith Community Garden, San Francisco, California

May 01, 2013

On April 21, KGI partnered with the volunteers from our Sow It Forward partners, Causes.com and Odwalla, to work in the Alice Griffith Community Garden in Hunters Point, San Francisco. The Alice Griffith Community Garden was chosen earlier this year for a $600 Sow It Forward Garden Grant and we're happy to support them and their mission to make good, healthy foods more accessible to all.

The garden is located in the Alice Griffith public housing unit and provides the community with fresh fruits from its plum, fig, apple, lemon, cherry, and mulberry trees. Vegetable garden beds flourish throughout the year and an assortment of onions, garlic, tomatoes, strawberries, zucchini, and other goodies make up the lush landscape. Congratulations Alice Griffith Community Gardeners: we look forward to watching you grow!
