Nature Consortium’s Earth Project Garden Classroom Thanks KGI for Sowing It Forward

Nature Consortium’s Earth Project Garden Classroom
Jun 27, 2013

Nature Consortium, a Seattle nonprofit, connects people, arts, and nature through programs such as our Earth Project Garden Classroom at the Pathfinder K-8 School in West Seattle.  The Garden Classroom plants, maintains, and harvests 17 organic fruit and vegetable beds enjoyed by the students and the whole community.  All of Pathfinder’s 482 students are involved in the garden, and over 120 classes were held in the garden over the past school year.

KGI’s generous grant this year funded two durable outdoor benches that convert to tables for the Garden Classroom.  These beautiful new benches allow students to sit and have access to work space as they learn about gardening and fresh produce preparation.  They also make the garden even more welcoming to local residents, who have become increasingly interested in the Garden Classroom as the garden has become more inviting.

Thank you, Kitchen Gardeners International!
