June veggies at Durham

Jun 30, 2013

Thank you KGI for helping make Durham Friends garden the best ever! We built several more raised beds, built a bean tent and added more paths to make easier access for all. We also have 4 friendly chickens working hard to keep the insect pests at bay.

Currently our bounty of kale, collards and radishes are being shared with our community. We have in the garden 6 kinds of brassicas, 7 varieties of tomatoes and 12 other vegetable thriving in our hot, rainy early summer! This year we added a raspberry parch as well. Besides producing a substantial amount of food, our garden boasts a beautiful spread of flowers, annual and perennial, a lovely hand made trellis swing and 2 peach trees.
