CCHC Healthy Living Garden

May 15, 2013

Since receiving the Sow It Forward grant in March, the garden at Charlotte Community Health Clinic in Charlotte, NC, has grown leaps and bounds. The grant money allowed us to purchase some much-needed garden art items to make the area more welcoming for patients. From iguanas to flowers to butterflies, our fencing has been transformed into something to see! We were also able to purchase garden art stakes, a clock, a wind chime, high-quality tomato and pepper stakes and a trellis for cucumbers. Our veggies are growing strong. We have snap peas, bush beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, peppers, broccoli, spinach, cilantro, and basil. Our patients planted and are now tending the garden. It has been a wonderful experience for all involved. Thanks to KGI and Sow It Forward for giving us an extra push in our garden's second year and for many years to come!
