The Bella Garden Project

Here at Bella Mente Montessori Academy (BMMA) our school garden program, "The Bella Garden Project" (TBGP) will serve as a future outdoor classroom. TBGP goal on campus is to have it  blossom into an urban farm where students experience the magic of planting a seed and watching it grow into an edible delight.  The garden will deliver diverse educational experiences encompassing science, math, history, nutrition, and an edible education for all of BMMA  In addition to direct education of our students, the garden will "Sow it Forward” in the community through monthly classes and workdays for parents and families to extend the experiences the children learn first-hand at school (e.g., healthy eating, composting, environmental stewardship) into the home. Our program will reach beyond the fences of our gardens and school grounds and further into the community with a garden that will prove the importance of growing a school community through a garden based education.
