You can grow your own food. We can help.

Adelphi Acre Community Garden

Adelphi Acre Community Garden is a not-for-profit association that will provide residents in Northwest Austin with a space to grow fresh vegetables and herbs, using sustainable growing practices and donating fresh produce to local food banks.  This well-planned space will be managed by local gardeners who wish to grow plants for harvest or beautification in a shared environment.  It will enhance the sense of community in our area by providing local residents the opportunity to conserve green space and have a connection to nature and a source of fresh and nutritious food all while sharing resources and expertise with other gardeners. Our vision for Adelphi Acre is to provide residents with a garden that will allow them to grow local, organic food, encourage civic responsibility to those in need, and provide education opportunities about the nutritional and environmental benefits of diets that include fresh, organic and locally sourced foods.

Key Features of our Garden include:

  • 46, 4x12 raised beds
  • 10, 10x10 raised beds
  • Native and drought resistant landscaping
  • Wooden bee hives and collection boxes
  • Butterfly Garden
  • Rock Garden and rock sculptures from local artist
  • Compost and Soil Amendment Area

We are sponsored by the Sustainable Food Center of Austin and endorsed by the City of Austin’s Sustainable Urban Agriculture and Community Garden Program (SUACG).
